Calculator FAQ
How accurate is this calculator?
It uses the standard amortization formula lenders use for fixed-APR installment and personal loans. Your real agreement may add an origination fee or round the payment, which changes the numbers slightly.
What APR should I enter?
If you don't know yet, 29.99% is a common offer for fair credit, 17.99% for good credit, and 9.95% for very good. Request offers to get your actual rate — it's a soft check.
Does it work for short-term loans?
Use the short-term tab. Those loans charge a flat fee per $100 for the period rather than monthly interest, so the math is different.
Why does a longer term cost more?
Interest accrues on the balance each month; more months means more interest even though each payment is smaller. The schedule shows exactly where each payment goes.
Can I save or print the schedule?
Yes — use the 'Download CSV' button, or print the page.
