What "sale or share" means here

When you submit a loan request we send it to lenders in our network so they can make you an offer. Some state laws treat that as a "sale" or "sharing". Opting out means we'll stop sending your information to lenders and advertising partners — which also means we can't match you with new offers until you opt back in.

Opting out doesn't affect a lender that already has your request or a loan you've signed; contact that lender directly.
